Upcoming Events
Many of our members and friends like to plan ahead, especially if they know they’ll have guests visiting. To see what’s on tap at First Church in the coming months, the following is a listing by event type (e.g., Concert Series, Bonita Christian Forum, etc.).
Bonita Christian Forum
This speaker series, begun in 2005 and sponsored by First Presbyterian Church, presents “high visibility” followers of Jesus Christ from all walks of life sharing their stories of faith. For maximum outreach, programs are scheduled during the winter season months, from November through the following April. Programs are free and open to the public. An offering is taken to defray expenses. The schedule of speakers for our upcoming fifth season has just been announced:

Concert Series ticket and sponsorship information is now available at 992-3410. You may become a Concert Series sponsor for $100 and receive two tickets per performer as our way of saying thanks, or you may come to the music office one week before each performance to pick up free tickets. We know you'll enjoy these remaining concerts!
New Odyssey

This award-winning singer and pianist has played the piano since the age of three. His concerts are known to inspire with a unique journey through his life as he performs various styles of music. From Broadway to opera to romantic ballads, his performance is powerful and passionate. His talent will leave you amazed!

Velvet voices! These young men have energy and talent to spare, inspiring audiences during nine European tours. They've stirred hearts with a diverse repertoire from classical to contemporary and gospel to show tunes.

Identical twins with identical pianos ... straight from Vegas! Vivacious and charming, these entertainers have performed on television and around the world. Fine Arts Series 2009-2010
Our Fine Arts Series brings in the best classical musicians from the area and from around the country. When you purchase a ticket, you are raising funds for our First Academy of Music Scholarship Fund.

Famous for its sublime movement and known as the "The Apotheosis of the Dance," the Seventh Symphony was described by Beethoven as "one of the happiest products of my poor talents." Also featured on the program: Wagner's sumptuous symphonic poem (Siegfried Idyll) composed as a birthday present to his wife after the birth of their son Siegfried, and Schoenberg's early masterpiece for strings (Transfigured Night).

Movie Nights (“First Flix”)
Join other members of the First Church family to watch some great movies on the big screens in the sanctuary, with fellowship time following in McClure Hall. There is no charge. Films are generally scheduled on Friday evenings; call the church office to get specific info on the featured flick. [Schedule to be announced; normally 3-4 films are selected to be shown between October and April.]
