Family Ministries

Be still, and know that I am God. Psalm 46:10

At First Church we realize the difficulties families face in the 21st century, as they try to raise well-balanced, morally conscious children, who have a life-impacting knowledge of the love of Christ and are committed to making the world a better place. Most of us would love to “be still, and know God”, but find it hard to do so as we balance the demands of everyday life. Because of the pace of modern life, First Church has made a strong commitment to our Family Ministries. We strive to build up and equip the families of our church to grow in their faith, individually, and as a unit.

We have a variety of ministries and events for families, children and students of all ages. We invite you to discover all we have to offer, and we hope you find a home, where your spirit is filled, and your gifts are used for God’s glory. For more information on any of the events listed below, please contact or through the church office at (239) 992-3233. On the following pages you'll find more detailed information about our Children's, Youth and College ministry programs, as well as the Wonder Years Preschool.

Family Fun Days

Throughout the year, we have several Family Fun Days. These activities vary, but all are designed to promote family interaction and togetherness within the safe haven of a loving community of faith. We have an annual Easter Celebration, Fourth of July Picnic, Trunk-or-Treat event, and Christmas Pageant, as well as outings to local establishments where we enjoy (wording?) water parks, bowling, putt-putt, roller skating, pottery painting and more. Information on upcoming Family Events can always be found in the church bulletin or on the Children's Ministry website: www.neonkids.org.

Wednesday Nights

In five-week segments throughout the year we meet for Wednesday night small group studies. During this time there is a program for the whole family. While adults have the opportunity to take advantage of a variety of studies, discussion groups, parenting classes and more, children take part in exciting age appropriate programs that feature games, crafts and Bible teaching.
